More on my
fractal tiles (which make a Sierpinsky triangle, in case you were wondering):
- Tiff has found that there are quite a few tiling modes beyond the simple hexagonal mode Andy found. The modes that are possible seem to be interestingly constrained.
- I've created a jigsaw design based on the tile, with bumps for +s and indentations for -s, and sent it off to be laser cut from anodised aluminium sheet. I'm hoping I can sell sets of these things at the Monash uni market or auction them on eBay or something :-). My plan is to put tile sets in little felt drawstring bags that can be opened up and flattened out to form a playing surface -- a geometric meditation you can carry around in your pocket, a little mandala. The pieces should be small enough that they require a steady hand to assemble, so that completing the puzzle will require one to be calm.
