Carl Orff and the 1936 Olympic Games

I'm going to approach a notion I've had for a while by a roundabout route. Today I Learned: Carl Orff wrote music for the 1936 Olympic Games hosted by Nazi Germany.

You may be familiar with Carl Orff from his choral work Carmina Burana, or from his "Schulwerk" music teaching method. This method features an orchestra of simple instruments for children. Playing in a group is emphasised. Spirit of the times. The famous "Street Song" exemplifies the style:
